Privacy policy
Last updated: July 2026. This page covers what SchengenCompare collects on this site — it doesn't cover the insurers you click through to, who each have their own policy.
What we collect
SchengenCompare doesn't have user accounts, logins, or a contact form that stores your data on our end — the "Contact" page uses a plain mailto link, so any message goes straight to our inbox, not through us.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to see how many people visit, which pages get read, and which "Get a quote" links get clicked. This works through cookies and similar technology, and Google processes some of that data on its own servers. We don't get your name, email, or any other detail that identifies you personally through this — just aggregate usage patterns.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance reasons. This is normal for any website and isn't something we access individually.
Cookies
The only cookies set on this site come from Google Analytics. You can block or delete them through your browser's cookie settings, or use a browser extension like Google's Analytics Opt-out Add-on — the site works exactly the same either way, nothing here requires cookies to function.
Links to insurers
Every "Get a quote" button takes you to the insurer's own website to complete the purchase. Once you leave schengencompare.com, that provider's own privacy policy applies — we don't receive your application details, payment information, or anything you enter on their site.
"Get a quote" links on this site are affiliate links: they carry a referral ID (directly in the URL, or via an affiliate network redirect) so the provider can credit us a commission if you sign up, at no extra cost to you. That ID doesn't identify you personally — it's tied to the link, not to your visit.
Children's privacy
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle data changes further — for example, if we add more affiliate tracking links — this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
